Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23rd, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. She has five siblings - two half-brothers and a half-sister, and a younger brother and sister. Their parents gave their daughter the name Miley with the hopes that she will achieve greatness. Miley was nicknamed Smiley in her youth, which she earned because of her cheerful nature. Her father was an influential Democratic politician who was named Ron Cyrus. Cyrus first attended Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. When she was of eighteen, Cyrus and her family moved from Tennessee to Toronto in Canada where Billy Ray, Cyrus's father played the role of Doc (2001) in TV. Cyrus took the choice to start acting around that moment. Her first appearance was with her father as Doc Doc (2001). Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003), where she starred in an unimportant role, was also a success. Cyrus appeared as the leading character in Hannah Montana (2006). The story tells the story of an adolescent that is secretly a popstar. Again her father acted alongside the actress in her. The show went on to be a huge hit. Tours that sold out and contracts for merchandise came later. Cyrus soon became an instant hit in the eyes of teenagers. Cyrus began to take on different roles after her success with Hannah Montana (2006). These included playing Ronnie Miller (in The Last Song, 2010) and Lola (in LOL (2012)) as well as Demi Moor.
